Poesie is a simple sundress with a crocheted, one-piece bodice and a gathered fabric skirt. In Austin, Texas, I find that it is too hot most of the year for my daughter to wear most crocheted garments. She needs something cool and poetically simple for the summer. The combination of soft cotton crocheted into an airy halter and a light, woven cotton skirt make it the perfect combination for this dress. The easy edging creates a path for a ribbon tie at the neck as well as a button loop for the back closure. A slight upward curve to the bodice edges prevents sagging at the back.
This pattern includes full directions for all 4 sizes as well as a photo-rich written tutorial for measuring and attaching a fabric skirt bottom onto a crocheted dress bodice
